Get out of the sun immediately
Cool the skin with a cool bath or shower
Apply cool, wet compresses to the area
Use aloe vera gel or a fragrance-free moisturizer
Drink plenty of water
Take ibuprofen or acetaminophen if needed
Avoid popping blisters
Wear loose, soft clothing
Stay out of the sun until healed
Use sunscreen on exposed skin after the burn starts healing
Seek medical care for severe pain, large blisters, fever, dizziness, or signs of infection
