How To Patch Pecans?

Inspect pecans for cracks, holes, mold, or insect damage

Discard any pecans that are soft, rancid, or visibly spoiled

Rinse pecans briefly under cool water if needed

Pat pecans completely dry with a clean towel

For small cracks, coat the damaged area with melted beeswax or food-safe shellac

For larger shell damage, apply a thin layer of food-safe epoxy only if the pecans are for craft use, not eating

Let the patch material cure fully according to the product instructions

Sand any rough edges gently if needed for craft use

Store patched pecans in a cool, dry place

Do not eat pecans that have been patched with non-food-safe materials
