File the top coat gently to break the seal
Soak cotton pads in acetone
Place soaked cotton on each nail
Wrap each fingertip tightly with foil or use nail clips
Wait 10 to 15 minutes
Remove one wrap and check if the polish lifts
Gently push off softened shellac with a cuticle pusher or orangewood stick
Rewrap and soak longer if needed
Buff away remaining residue lightly
Wash hands and apply cuticle oil or moisturizer
