Save the animated GIF to your device as a video file if needed
Open Instagram and tap the plus icon
Select Story, Reel, or Post
Choose the GIF or converted video from your gallery
Trim or edit it if prompted
Add captions, stickers, or effects if desired
Tap Share or Next to post it
If using a GIF sticker, open Stories and tap the sticker icon
Search for a GIF in the GIF sticker library
Select the GIF and place it on your Story
Publish the Story
If the GIF is not supported directly, convert it to MP4 before uploading
