Turn off power at the circuit breaker
Verify the power is off with a voltage tester
Read the fan manufacturer’s instructions
Gather all parts and tools
Assemble the fan motor housing
Attach the downrod or mounting bracket
Feed the wires through the downrod or canopy
Secure the motor to the mounting bracket
Connect the electrical wires
Attach the canopy to cover the wiring
Install the fan blades to the blade arms
Attach the blade arms to the motor
Install the light kit if included
Install bulbs and glass shades if included
Tighten all screws and fasteners
Restore power at the breaker
Test the fan speeds and light
Check for wobbling and balance if needed
