How To Calculate Relative Frequency?

Collect the data values

Choose the categories or intervals for the values

Count the number of observations in each category (frequency)

Compute total number of observations: (N)

For each category, calculate relative frequency: (text{Relative Frequency} = frac{f}{N})

If using intervals, assign each data value to its interval, then apply the same formula per interval

Verify the results: the relative frequencies across all categories should sum to (1) (or (100%) if converted to percentages)

Optionally convert to percent: (text{Relative Frequency (%)} = left(frac{f}{N}right)times 100)
