How To Clean Timber Floors?

Sweep or vacuum with a soft brush attachment to remove dust and grit

Place felt pads on furniture legs and use doormats at entryways

Mix a pH-neutral wood floor cleaner with warm water as directed on the label

Wring the mop well so it is barely damp (do not soak the floor)

Mop in the direction of the wood grain

Spot-clean spills immediately with a slightly damp cloth

For sticky spots, use a damp microfiber cloth with a small amount of pH-neutral cleaner

Rinse lightly with a clean cloth dampened with plain water if the cleaner requires it

Dry the floor promptly with a dry microfiber towel or mop

Use a dry microfiber mop for routine daily/weekly maintenance

Avoid steam mops and excessive moisture

Avoid harsh cleaners (bleach, ammonia, vinegar), abrasive scrubbers, and steel wool

Use mineral spirits or paint thinner only for specific residues as directed by the product label and test in an inconspicuous area

Reapply floor finish or polish only when needed and as recommended for your finish type

Check manufacturer guidance for your specific timber floor finish (sealed, oiled, waxed)
