Apply penetrating oil and let it soak
Use the correct screwdriver or bit with firm downward pressure
Tap the screw head lightly to help break corrosion
Try gripping the head with locking pliers if it is exposed
Use a rubber band between the bit and stripped head for extra grip
Cut a new slot in the head with a rotary tool and use a flathead screwdriver
Use a screw extractor kit
Drill a small pilot hole into the center of the screw
Use a left-hand drill bit to back the screw out
Heat the surrounding metal to expand it, then try removing the screw
Freeze the screw with compressed air or a cooling spray to contract it
If the head is broken off, drill it out carefully
Use a center punch to keep the drill bit from wandering
Re-tap the hole after removal if the threads are damaged
Replace the screw with a new one of the same size and type
