Meet the basic eligibility requirements

One elective course approved by the California Department of Real Estate
Choose a licensed real estate school or approved provider
Submit a California real estate salesperson license application
Include fingerprints for a background check
Pay the required application and exam fees
Schedule and pass the California real estate salesperson exam
Receive your exam results
Apply for your license after passing the exam
Find a licensed California real estate broker to sponsor you
Activate your license under the broker
Maintain your license with continuing education requirements
Renew your license on time when required
