Rest for 5 minutes before measuring
Avoid caffeine, smoking, and exercise for 30 minutes before measuring
Sit upright with back supported and feet flat on the floor
Keep legs uncrossed
Rest the arm on a flat surface at heart level
Use the correct cuff size
Place the cuff on bare upper arm
Wrap the cuff snugly above the elbow
Do not talk or move during measurement
Follow the device instructions
Take two readings 1 minute apart
Record both readings
Measure at the same time each day if tracking regularly
