Freeze the clothing in a plastic bag for 1 to 2 hours
Scrape off the hardened gum with a dull knife or spoon
Apply ice cubes directly to the gum until it hardens
Peel off the gum once it becomes brittle
Rub peanut butter, cooking oil, or petroleum jelly on the gum
Lift the softened gum with a dull edge
Wash the clothing with laundry detergent
Soak the stained area in white vinegar
Scrub gently with a toothbrush
Use rubbing alcohol on the remaining residue
Launder the garment as usual after treatment
Check the care label before using heat or chemicals
Avoid putting the clothing in the dryer until the gum is fully removed
