Restart your Mac
Quit apps you aren’t using (including browser tabs)
Check Activity Monitor and quit memory-hogging processes
In Activity Monitor, use the Memory tab and sort by Memory to find the highest users
Reduce browser memory use by closing tabs/extensions or restarting the browser
Disable or remove unnecessary login items (System Settings → General → Login Items)
Clear browser cache (browser settings → Privacy/Clear browsing data)
Free up storage space (Apple menu → System Settings → General → Storage)
Restart Finder (Finder → Force Quit → Finder → relaunch)
Check for and install macOS updates (System Settings → General → Software Update)
Reset NVRAM/PRAM (Intel Macs only)
If using a third-party tool, run its cleanup feature and then restart (if applicable)
