Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil
Add gnocchi to the boiling water in small batches
Stir gently to prevent sticking
Cook until gnocchi float to the surface
Simmer 1–2 minutes after they float
Remove with a slotted spoon and drain
Finish in sauce: toss in warm sauce for 30–60 seconds
Optional pan-fry: heat oil or butter in a skillet, add drained gnocchi, cook until lightly browned on both sides
Serve immediately with desired toppings (cheese, herbs, sauce)
