Gather masa harina, warm water, and salt
Mix masa harina and salt in a bowl
Add warm water gradually
Knead until a soft, smooth dough forms
Cover the dough and let it rest for 10 to 15 minutes
Divide the dough into small balls
Place a dough ball between two sheets of plastic or parchment
Press it flat with a tortilla press or heavy pan
Heat a dry skillet or griddle over medium-high heat
Cook the tortilla for about 30 seconds on the first side
Flip and cook for about 45 seconds on the second side
Flip again and cook until it puffs slightly and has light brown spots
Transfer to a clean towel and keep covered
Repeat with the remaining dough balls
