How To Play Clue?

Gather the game board, cards, suspect pieces, weapon pieces, and locations

Shuffle the suspect, weapon, and room cards

Deal cards to players so each player has a hand

Place the remaining (un-dealt) cards face down as the solution envelope contents

Choose a starting player

Move the current player token to the first location shown on the board (or start location rules)

Take a turn by making one suggestion: pick a suspect, a weapon, and the room where it allegedly occurred

Announce the suggestion to the other players

Starting with the player to your left, ask each player in order to disprove the suggestion by showing one matching card if they have it

If someone can disprove, stop asking and record the information

If no one can disprove, the suggested cards may be the solution

Update your notes based on what you learn from disproving cards

End the turn after the suggestion cycle (and any movement used per your edition’s rules)

Continue taking turns, making suggestions and collecting information

When you believe you know the solution, make an accusation on your turn by naming the suspect, weapon, and room

Check your accusation against the solution envelope

If correct, you win

If incorrect, you are eliminated (or the game ends per your edition’s rules)
