Find the correct remote model number (inside battery compartment or on the back)
Insert fresh batteries into the remote
Press and hold the Xfinity button until the LED changes (or remains on)
Choose one setup method:
If programming for TV: press TV button, then press and hold Setup until the LED changes, then enter the TV brand code, then press Power to test
If programming for TV using code search: press TV, then press and hold Setup until the LED changes, then press and hold Setup until the LED changes again, then press Channel Up repeatedly until the TV turns off, then press Setup to save
If programming for streaming box/soundbar: press the device button (e.g., TV or AUX), then follow the on-screen prompts in the Xfinity Remote app or TV settings
If using Xfinity Remote app: open the app, select your remote, choose Add Device, follow prompts, and test volume/channel controls
For Comcast/Xfinity TV boxes (if applicable): ensure the remote is paired with the set-top box by pressing and holding the Xfinity button and the OK/Select button together until pairing starts
Pair the remote to the TV (if supported by your remote): press and hold Xfinity and Back together for a few seconds, then follow the on-screen pairing prompts
If volume doesn’t work: set the remote to control TV volume by pressing TV, then press and hold Setup until the LED changes, then enter the correct TV code, then press Power to test
Save the setup: confirm the LED blinks twice or turns off after entering the code
Test: verify Power, Volume Up/Down, Mute, and Channel Up/Down (as supported)
