Choose a pot that is 1–2 inches larger in diameter than the current pot
Make sure the new pot has drainage holes
Water the plant lightly a few hours before repotting
Prepare fresh potting mix suitable for the plant
Gently remove the plant from its current pot
Loosen the roots carefully with your fingers
Trim any dead, damaged, or rotting roots
Add a layer of fresh soil to the new pot
Place the plant in the center of the new pot
Fill around the roots with fresh soil
Press the soil lightly to remove air pockets
Keep the plant at the same soil level as before
Water the plant thoroughly after repotting
Place the plant in indirect light for a few days
Avoid fertilizing immediately after repotting
Monitor the plant for stress over the next few weeks
