How To Repot An Orchid?

Choose a new pot with drainage holes

Select fresh orchid potting mix

Water the orchid lightly before repotting

Remove the orchid from its current pot

Gently shake off old potting medium

Trim dead, mushy, or rotten roots with sterilized scissors

Remove dead leaves or dried flower spikes if needed

Place fresh potting mix in the new pot

Position the orchid in the pot with roots spread out

Fill around the roots with more potting mix

Keep the crown above the potting mix

Tap the pot to settle the medium

Do not pack the mix too tightly

Water lightly after repotting if the mix is dry

Place the orchid in bright, indirect light

Avoid fertilizing for a few weeks

Monitor for signs of stress or root rot
