Gather soy wax, candle wicks, fragrance oil, dye if desired, a heat-safe container, a double boiler, a thermometer, and a stirring utensil
Clean and dry the container
Attach the wick to the center of the container bottom using wick sticker, glue dot, or a small amount of melted wax
Secure the wick upright with a wick holder, chopstick, or pencil
Measure the wax needed for the container
Melt the wax in a double boiler over low to medium heat
Heat the wax to the recommended temperature for the wax type
Remove the wax from heat
Add fragrance oil at the recommended usage rate
Add dye if desired and stir well
Let the wax cool to the recommended pouring temperature
Pour the wax slowly into the container
Keep the wick centered while the wax sets
Let the candle cool and harden completely
Trim the wick to about 1/4 inch
Cure the candle for the recommended time before burning
Burn the candle on a heat-safe surface and keep the wick trimmed before each use
