Wash the skin with soap and cool water as soon as possible
Wash clothing, shoes, tools, and pet fur that may have touched the plant
Avoid scratching the rash
Apply cool compresses for 15 to 30 minutes at a time
Take an oatmeal bath or use colloidal oatmeal
Use calamine lotion or hydrocortisone cream
Take an oral antihistamine for itching if needed
Keep fingernails short to reduce skin damage from scratching
Seek medical care if the rash is severe, widespread, on the face or genitals, or if there is swelling, fever, or signs of infection
Get emergency help if there is trouble breathing or swelling of the lips, tongue, or throat
