Measure the area
Remove existing grass, weeds, rocks, and debris
Excavate the area to the required depth
Install edging or border restraints
Add a weed barrier fabric
Add and spread a base layer of crushed stone or decomposed granite
Compact the base thoroughly
Add a leveling layer of sand or fine aggregate if needed
Compact and smooth the surface again
Roll out the artificial grass
Let the grass acclimate in the sun
Trim the turf to fit the area
Position the seams tightly if using multiple pieces
Apply seam tape and adhesive
Secure the turf with landscape staples or nails around the edges
Brush the grass fibers upright
Add infill if required
Spread infill evenly
Brush the turf again
Check for wrinkles, gaps, and loose edges
Water lightly to help settle the infill if needed
