Park on a flat, safe surface and turn on hazard lights
Put the vehicle in park or gear and set the parking brake
Lay the tire chains out flat and untangle them
Place the chains behind or over the tire, depending on the chain type
Center the chains on the tire tread
Connect the inner fastener first
Drape the chains evenly across the tire
Connect the outer fastener
Tighten the chains using the built-in tensioning system
Move the vehicle a short distance and recheck the fit
Retighten the chains if needed
Repeat for the other drive tire if required
Drive slowly and stop to inspect the chains after a short distance
