Sort out any bruised, moldy, or overripe berries before storing
Do not wash strawberries until right before eating
Store them unwashed and dry
Keep the green tops on until ready to use
Line a container with paper towels to absorb moisture
Place strawberries in a single layer if possible
Use a container with ventilation or leave the lid slightly open
Refrigerate strawberries immediately after buying
Keep them in the coldest part of the fridge, not the door
Replace damp paper towels as needed
Remove any spoiled berries right away
Rinse with a vinegar-water solution before storage if desired, then dry completely
Avoid sealing strawberries in airtight containers with trapped moisture
Freeze extra strawberries if you cannot use them soon
