Measure the wall area and calculate the amount of siding needed

Remove old siding if necessary and inspect the wall sheathing

Install house wrap or building paper over the wall

Install starter strip along the bottom edge of the wall

Snap chalk lines to keep rows level

Cut the first vinyl siding panel to fit

Hook the bottom of the first panel into the starter strip

Leave a small gap at all ends, corners, and openings for movement

Overlap each new panel with the previous panel

Stagger panel seams between rows

Install corner posts before siding the walls

Fit siding around windows, doors, and other openings

Use J-channel around trim and openings
