Shuffle the deck and deal 7 cards to each player
Place the remaining cards face down as the draw pile
Turn over the top card to start the discard pile
The first player must match the top card by color, number, or symbol
If a player cannot match, they must draw one card
If the drawn card can be played, it may be played immediately
Play continues clockwise unless reversed by a Reverse card
Skip card makes the next player lose their turn
Reverse card changes the direction of play
Draw Two card makes the next player draw 2 cards and lose their turn
Wild card lets the player choose the next color
Wild Draw Four lets the player choose the next color and makes the next player draw 4 cards
A Wild Draw Four should be played only when no matching color card is available
Players must say UNO when they have one card left
If a player forgets to say UNO and another player catches it before the next turn, that player draws 2 cards
The first player to play all their cards wins the round
In some versions, the winner scores points based on the cards left in other players’ hands
Play multiple rounds until a player reaches the agreed score or number of wins
