Save the animated GIF as a video file, since Instagram does not support direct GIF uploads
Convert the GIF to MP4 using a GIF-to-video converter or editing app
Open Instagram and choose the post, story, reel, or ad format you want to use
Tap the upload button and select the converted video file
Trim or adjust the clip if needed
Add captions, tags, music, or effects if desired
Publish the post
If you want to share a GIF in Stories, use the GIF sticker feature instead of uploading the GIF file directly
If you want to use a GIF in a Reel, add the converted video to the Reel editor and post it as a Reel
If you want to post a GIF from your phone gallery, make sure it is saved as a supported video format first
