How To Put A Tire On A Rim?

Deflate the tire completely if it has any air in it

Remove the old tire from the rim if needed

Inspect the rim for damage, rust, or debris

Inspect the tire for the correct size and any damage

Apply tire lubricant or soapy water to the tire beads and rim edges

Place one side of the tire bead onto the rim

Work the first bead fully into the rim using your hands

Place the second bead onto the rim starting opposite the valve stem

Push the second bead into the rim by hand as far as possible

Use tire irons carefully if needed to finish seating the bead

Keep the opposite side of the bead in the rim’s drop center while working

Make sure the valve stem is aligned and not pinched

Inflate the tire slowly

Check that both beads seat evenly around the rim

Inflate to the recommended pressure

Check for leaks around the bead and valve stem

Reinstall the wheel if it was removed
