Check the Recycle Bin or Trash
Open Microsoft Word and go to File > Open > Recent
Use Word’s Document Recovery pane if it appears after a crash
Go to File > Info > Manage Document > Recover Unsaved Documents
Search for AutoRecover files with the .asd extension
Search for temporary files with the .tmp extension
Look in the default AutoRecover folder on your computer
Restore a previous version from File History or backup
Check OneDrive or cloud storage version history
Use Word’s Open and Repair option
Search the computer for the document name or file type
Recover from a backup drive or external storage
Use data recovery software if the file was deleted
Save recovered content immediately under a new file name
