Open Word
Go to File
Select Options
Open the General tab
Uncheck Show Copilot
Click OK
Close and reopen Word
If needed, go to File
Select Account
Choose Manage Settings
Turn off Copilot-related options
If Copilot is still present, disable Microsoft 365 connected experiences in Privacy settings
If your organization manages Word, contact your IT administrator to remove Copilot access
