How To Sautee Onions?

Peel and slice or dice the onions

Heat a skillet over medium heat

Add oil or butter to the pan

Add the onions

Stir to coat the onions evenly

Cook, stirring occasionally

Reduce heat if they start to brown too quickly

Continue cooking until soft and translucent

Cook longer for golden or caramelized onions

Season with salt if desired
