Crack 2 eggs into a microwave-safe bowl
Add 1 tablespoon milk or water
Add a pinch of salt and pepper
Beat the eggs with a fork until combined
Add a small pat of butter if desired
Microwave on high for 30 seconds
Stir the eggs well
Microwave again for 20 to 30 seconds
Stir again
Repeat in 10 to 15 second intervals until softly set
Stop before fully dry, as eggs continue cooking
Let sit for 30 seconds
Serve immediately
