Get out of the sun immediately
Cool the skin with a cool bath or cool compresses
Keep blisters intact
Apply aloe vera gel or a fragrance-free moisturizer
Drink plenty of water
Take an over-the-counter pain reliever if needed
Wear loose, soft clothing
Cover the area with a clean, nonstick dressing if needed
Do not pop or peel the blisters
Do not apply ice directly to the skin
Do not use petroleum-based products on fresh blisters
Do not use harsh soaps, scrubs, or alcohol-based products
Seek medical care if blisters cover a large area, signs of infection appear, or you have fever, chills, dizziness, or severe pain
