Turn on the new iPhone and complete the setup
Make sure both iPhones are connected to Wi‑Fi
Keep the old iPhone nearby
Sign in with the same Apple ID on the new iPhone
Go to Settings on the new iPhone
Tap Cellular or Mobile Data
Tap Add eSIM or Set Up Cellular
Choose Transfer From Nearby iPhone
Follow the on-screen instructions on both iPhones
Approve the transfer on the old iPhone if prompted
Wait for the cellular plan to activate on the new iPhone
Restart both iPhones if the transfer does not complete
Contact your carrier if the number does not transfer automatically
Insert the physical SIM into the new iPhone if your carrier uses a SIM card
Ask your carrier to move the number if you are switching carriers
Remove the old iPhone from your carrier account if needed
