Move out of the sun immediately
Cool the skin with cool compresses or a cool bath
Do not pop the blisters
Keep the area clean and dry
Apply a gentle fragrance-free moisturizer or aloe vera gel
Cover blisters loosely with a sterile nonstick bandage
Take over-the-counter pain relievers if needed
Drink plenty of water
Wear loose, soft clothing over the area
Avoid further sun exposure until healed
Seek medical care if blisters are widespread, infected, very painful, or on the face, hands, genitals, or eyes
