Open Google Calendar
Click the plus sign next to Other calendars
Select Browse calendars of interest
Check the Birthdays calendar
Return to your calendar view
Add birthdays to Google Contacts to have them appear in Google Calendar
Open Google Contacts
Create or edit a contact
Enter the birthday field
Save the contact
Refresh Google Calendar if the birthday does not appear immediately
