Park the vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine
Let the engine cool completely
Disconnect the negative battery terminal
Locate the serpentine belt routing diagram
Inspect the belt path and tensioner position
Use the correct wrench or belt tool on the tensioner
Rotate the tensioner to relieve belt tension
Slide the belt off one pulley
Slowly release the tensioner
Remove the old belt from all pulleys
Compare the old belt to the new belt
Route the new belt around the pulleys according to the diagram
Leave the easiest pulley for last
Rotate the tensioner again to create slack
Slip the belt onto the final pulley
Make sure the belt is seated in every pulley groove
Release the tensioner slowly
Inspect the belt alignment on all pulleys
Reconnect the negative battery terminal
Start the engine and check belt operation
Shut off the engine and recheck belt seating if needed
