Open Gmail
Click the search bar
Click the X or clear icon next to a recent search suggestion, if shown
Open Gmail settings in your browser
Clear your browser’s search history or autofill data for Gmail searches
On mobile, tap the search bar
Tap and hold a recent search suggestion
Remove or delete the suggestion if the option appears
Clear your browser history and site data if Gmail search suggestions still appear
Sign out and sign back in if needed
