Gather embroidery floss, a needle, fabric, scissors, and an embroidery hoop
Cut a length of floss and separate the strands if needed
Thread the needle and tie a knot at the end
Place the fabric in the embroidery hoop and tighten it
Transfer or mark the design onto the fabric
Bring the needle up from the back of the fabric at the starting point
Make stitches by moving the needle through the fabric according to the chosen stitch
Keep stitches even and follow the design lines
Bring the needle to the back of the fabric to secure the thread when needed
Tie off the thread on the back when finished
Trim any excess thread
Remove the fabric from the hoop and press it if needed
