Open the image in Photoshop 2025
Select the Crop Tool
In the top options bar, set the crop ratio or leave it unconstrained
Drag the crop handles outward to expand the canvas
Press Enter or Return to apply
Select the Image menu
Choose Canvas Size
Increase the width and/or height
Set the anchor point to control where the extra space is added
Click OK
Select the Generative Expand tool if available
Drag the canvas edges outward
Click Generate
Choose a generated variation
Use the Rectangular Marquee Tool to select an area
Go to Edit
Choose Content-Aware Fill
Adjust the settings if needed
Click OK
Use the Clone Stamp Tool to manually extend edges
Use the Healing Brush Tool to blend areas
Save the expanded image
