Find a cat in a village, swamp hut, or near a village
Hold raw cod or raw salmon in your hand
Crouch or move slowly toward the cat
Keep the fish selected until the cat approaches you
Wait for the cat to come close
Use the fish on the cat to tame it
Once tamed, the cat will follow you
Use a lead if you want to move the cat more easily
Right-click the cat while holding an empty hand to make it sit
Pick up the cat only in Creative mode with a spawn egg or by using commands
