Sit or lie down and rest

Try gentle, slow breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth
Do not exercise until your heart rate settles
If you have a prescribed medication for fast heart rate, take it as directed
Seek urgent medical help if you have chest pain, fainting, severe shortness of breath, or a very fast heart rate that does not improve
