Cast on the required number of stitches for the i-cord edge
Knit the first two or three stitches, depending on your pattern
Slip the last stitch purlwise with yarn in back
Bring the yarn to the front between the needles
Slip the first stitch purlwise with yarn in front
Return the yarn to the back between the needles
Repeat the edge-stitch sequence on every row
Keep the edge stitches tight and even
Continue knitting the main fabric between the edge stitches
Bind off the i-cord edge as directed by your pattern
