Open Instagram and tap the plus icon to create a post, story, reel, or live
Add or select your photo or video
Tap Next
On the caption or sharing screen, tap Add location
Search for the location you want
Select the correct location from the list
Finish your caption or edits
Tap Share or Post
For a Story, add your photo or video
Tap the sticker icon
Select the Location sticker
Search for the location
Choose the location and place the sticker on your story
Tap Your Story or Close Friends to share
For an existing post, open the post
Tap the three dots
Tap Edit
Tap Add location or the current location
Search and select a location
Tap Done or the checkmark
Make sure location services are enabled on your device
Make sure Instagram has permission to access your location
Check that the location name is spelled correctly when searching
