Turn off power to the garage door opener
Inspect both sensors for dirt, damage, or loose wiring
Loosen the sensor mounting brackets slightly
Align both sensors so they face each other directly
Adjust the sensor height so both lenses are level
Check that both indicator lights are steady and not blinking
Tighten the mounting brackets once aligned
Reconnect any loose wires if needed
Remove any objects blocking the sensor path
Test the door by closing it with the opener
Readjust if the door reverses or the sensor lights remain off or blinking
