Have your Social Security number ready
Have your California driver’s license or state ID ready, if you have one
Have your mailing address, phone number, and email address ready
Provide your employment history for the last 18 months
Include employer names, addresses, phone numbers, and dates worked
Include the reason you are no longer working
Submit your claim
Check your mail and email for notices from the EDD
Certify for benefits every two weeks
Report any earnings when certifying
Call EDD if you cannot file online
