Sand the surface smooth
Remove all dust and debris
Stir polyurethane gently
Test on a small hidden area
Apply a thin coat with a brush, foam brush, or applicator
Follow the wood grain
Avoid overbrushing
Let the coat dry completely
Lightly sand between coats
Remove sanding dust
Apply additional thin coats as needed
Allow the final coat to cure fully before use
