Organize photos into folders by date, event, or album
Copy photos from your phone, camera, or computer to the backup location
Use automatic backup or sync if available
Keep at least two copies of your photos
Store one copy in a separate physical location
Verify that the backup completed successfully
Check that photos open correctly from the backup
Update backups regularly after adding new photos
Protect backups with strong passwords and encryption if possible
