Earn a high school diploma or GED
Complete an accredited radiologic technology program or CT-specific training pathway
Obtain certification or licensure as a radiologic technologist, if required in your state or country
Gain clinical experience in diagnostic imaging
Complete CT training through an accredited program, employer training, or postprimary education
Learn CT anatomy, patient positioning, radiation safety, and imaging protocols
Practice operating CT scanners and related imaging software
Earn CT certification, such as ARRT postprimary CT certification, if eligible
Apply for CT technologist positions in hospitals, imaging centers, or clinics
Maintain certification and complete continuing education requirements
Develop strong communication, attention to detail, and patient care skills
