Gather a white cotton shirt, fabric dye, rubber bands, gloves, plastic wrap, squeeze bottles, and a bucket or sink
Wash the shirt first without fabric softener
Keep the shirt damp
Choose a fold or twist pattern
Scrunch, spiral, stripe, or fold the shirt into the desired shape
Secure the shirt tightly with rubber bands
Put on gloves
Prepare the dye according to the package instructions
Apply dye to different sections of the shirt
Flip the shirt and dye the other side if needed
Place the dyed shirt in a plastic bag or wrap it in plastic
Let the dye set for the recommended time
Rinse the shirt under cold water until the water runs mostly clear
Remove the rubber bands
Wash the shirt separately in cold water
Dry the shirt according to the dye instructions
