Meet the basic eligibility requirements
Be at least 18 years old
Be a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted alien
Have a high school diploma or equivalent
Complete 270 hours of qualifying real estate education
Finish the required broker-specific education courses
Gain the required experience as a licensed real estate salesperson
Hold an active real estate sales agent license for the required period
Document the required qualifying experience
Submit a broker license application to the Texas Real Estate Commission
Pay the required application fee
Submit fingerprints for a background check
Pass the Texas real estate broker licensing exam
Obtain broker sponsorship if required for your business setup
Maintain your license through continuing education and renewal requirements
